Awakening to timeless Being is not enough

In the next bi-weekly teaching, Daniela Bomatter is going to emphasize a profound distinction that Evolutionary Enlightenment points to—one that few truly recognize: There is the awakening to timeless, formless, infinite Being, and then there is the awakening to the dynamic, ever-evolving life force that animates the manifest world. These two dimensions of awakening are not in opposition, but they are utterly distinct, and without understanding both, one’s realization remains incomplete.

The first awakening, which has been at the heart of traditional enlightenment teachings, is the recognition of the eternal, unchanging ground of Being. It is the direct perception of the limitless void, the silent presence beyond time and space. In this realization, all suffering dissolves, for one sees that at the deepest level, there is nothing to attain, nothing to fear—only an unshakable stillness.

But there is another awakening, one that is equally powerful yet far less understood: the awakening to becoming. This is the recognition that the universe is not merely a static emptiness but an ever-evolving process, a ceaseless surge of creative emergence. It is the realization that enlightenment is not only about transcending the world but about participating in its evolutionary unfolding with conscious intent.

Most seekers stop at the first awakening, believing it to be the final truth. But those who awaken to becoming see that enlightenment is not just freedom from the world, but freedom to create, to evolve, to consciously participate in the ecstatic movement of life itself.
